| In 1983 |

| Grade 1 - Bronze |
|
Awarded to Boys who show an interest / willingness / enthusiasm and
example within the Company, its activities, and towards his fellow
members. He should be involved in a Company Project of service for others
- locally, nationally or internationally. This project should, where
possible be associated with the Company activity programme (eg the
International Extension Fund, Tear Fund, Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for
Children, Oxfam etc.). |

| Grade 2 - Silver |
|
Awarded to Boys who show the same qualities as Grade 1 and who participate
in a potential NCO Course as part of a 6 - 8 week training programme. The
Course should be at Company or Battalion level with the involvement of the
Company Officers responsible for the Boys' activity programme. Following
the period, the Boy should be given some specific responsibility within
his Company. |

| Grade 3 - Gold |
|
Awarded to Boys who further develop the qualities as outlined in Grades 1
& 2, and who attend a Junior Leadership Course ,held at Battalion
level. The Course should include some input on human relationships with
the Church, the Company and the Community. The Boy's Company
responsibility should be different from that of Grade 2 in line with his
personal development. |

1993 |
|
There is no award at Grade 1- Bronze or 2 - Silver, the first Leadership
Credit is Grade 3 and this counts towards the Blue flash of the Leadership
badge. |

|
|
| Grade 3 - Gold |
|
Awarded to members who: |
| a. |
Participate in a Junior Leadership Course held at Battalion or District
level. The Course should include some in-put on human relationships within
the Church, the Company and the Community. |
|
b. |
Satisfactorily carry out some specific leadership responsibility within
the Company. |
|
|
|
|
It will be for the Company to decide the format of training and the
standards expected for satisfactory discharge of the leadership
responsibility. |
|
|
|
| A progressive programme of development over several weeks and
assessment of leadership over the session is a most effective method of
encouraging a boy's development within the Company. |
