Leadership (Bronze & Silver Grade discontinued in 1993)

Here we can see how the regulations changes for this from 1983-1993.
In 1983

He should be involved in a Company Project of service for others - locally, nationally or internationally. This project should, where possible be associated with the Company activity programme (eg the International Extension Fund, Tear Fund, Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children, Oxfam etc.).
Grade 2 - Silver
Awarded to Boys who show the same qualities as Grade 1 and who participate in a potential NCO Course as part of a 6 - 8 week training programme. The Course should be at Company or Battalion level with the involvement of the Company Officers responsible for the Boys' activity programme. Following the period, the Boy should be given some specific responsibility within his Company.
Grade 3 - Gold
Awarded to Boys who further develop the qualities as outlined in Grades 1 & 2, and who attend a Junior Leadership Course ,held at Battalion level. The Boy's Company responsibility should be different from that of Grade 2 in line with his personal development.
(Regulations as at 1983)
In 1993
There is no award at Grade 1- Bronze or 2 - Silver, the first Leadership Credit is Grade 3 and this counts towards the Blue flash of the Leadership badge.
Grade 3 - Gold
Awarded to members who:
a. Participate in a Junior Leadership Course held at Battalion or District level. The Course should include some in-put on human relationships within the Church, the Company and the Community.
b. Satisfactorily carry out some specific leadership responsibility within the Company.
It will be for the Company to decide the format of training and the standards expected for satisfactory discharge of the leadership responsibility.
A progressive programme of development over several weeks and assessment of leadership over the session is a most effective method of encouraging a boy's development within the Company.
