Awarded to Boys who having attended regularly a course of instruction and |

Have an elementary knowledge of a chosen subject, e.g., Local
archaeology, population, climate, flora and fauna, roadways, waterways,
etc. |

Practical |

visit, or visits, to a place of interest where the chosen
subjects can be explore effectively. |

| Grade 2 |
|
Awarded to Boys who have attended regularly a course of instruction and, |
|
1. |
Explore a chosen subject. |
|
2. |
Cover
a distance of seven miles oravisit of at least three hours toa
place of interest in pursuance of the subject. |
| 3. |
Practical |
Show developing knowledge of the subject by illustration
or display. |

|
| Grade 3 |
|
Awarded to Boys who hold Grade 2 gained in a previous Session and have
attended regularly a further course of instruction in a particular subject
and, |
|
1. |
Explore the subject fully. |
|
2. |
Cover a further ten miles
or a further visit of at least eight hours to a
place of interest in pursuance of the subject. |
| 3. |
Practical |
Prepare a detailed 'log' of the above exploration to the
satisfaction of the instructor. |
