1st Stage: Pass a written or oral examination on definitions, drill theory, words of command, Elementary Drill and show improvement during the session in Squad Drill or Company Drill movements.

2nd Stage: Pass a written or oral examination on Squad Drill and Company Drill, and show improvement during the session in Squad Drill or Company Drill movements.

3rd Stage: Pass a written or oral examination on Company Drill movements as well as a practical examination, instructing a squad in Elementary and Squad Drill movements, and involving the duties of a Section Commander in Company Drill.
