1st Stage (Minimum B.B. age 13): Corresponded to BCU's Novice Test. Water Safety Code, swim 50m in light clothing. Practical test in single seater kayak or Canadian Canoe.

2nd Stage (Minimum B.B. age 14): A more advanced practical test in a single seater canoe and a one-day canoeing expedition.

3rd Stage (Minimum B.B. age 15): Corresponded to BCU's Proficiency Test. More advanced practical tests; know how to carry out repairs; knowledge of Canoe Camping and undertake a two-day canoeing expedition.
