1st Stage: Pass a written or oral examination on definitions, drill theory, words of command, Elementary Drill and Squad Drill.

2nd Stage: Pass a written or oral examination on Advanced Drill.

3rd Stage: Pass practical examination, instructing a squad in Elementary and Squad Drill movements, and involving the duties of a Section Commander in Advanced Drill.
