1st Stage: Attend B.B. camps under canvas for at least seven days, and show knowledge in the various types of tent, and other items of equipment, tent craft, the Country Code, and personal health and hygiene. Also pass a practical test in pitching, striking and packing a tent.

2nd Stage: Attend a further B.B. camp of at least seven consecutive days, and show knowledge in the various types of lightweight tents and equipment, pressure stoves, living under canvas, and simple first aid. Also participate in a two day static camp of at least 30 hours duration, including two nights under canvas.

3rd Stage: Attend a further camp or camps of at least 7 days, and show knowledge in the essentials of a camp site and its layout, the care, maintenance, and store of equipment, arrangements for sanitation, hygiene and safety, catering and menus. Also plan and actually organise a two day static camp including choosing the site, setting up the camp, catering arrangements, programme and striking camp.
